Grade 5 math

Grade 5 is a big year for fractions and decimals: mixed numbers, improper fractions and multiplying fractions by whole numbers all arrive, and decimals go on a number line, get compared, rounded, added, subtracted and used with money. Measurement and units takes on converting between units, elapsed time and measurement word problems. Perimeter, area and volume moves to triangles, parallelograms and rectangular prisms. Data and graphs answers questions from bar graphs and line plots and finds the mean as a fair share.
